I am 60 years old and until 4 years ago computers were just used for word processing or playing games. I am one of the fortunate ones that decided to keep up with the modern technology via my children and their children. Make it fun to learn. Learn in small amounts so absorption is not such a big problem. Be daring and try things that may seem daunting to you, but you find out later that it's really only logic.
There are a lot more organisations nowadays that concentrate on teaching the "oldies" which is great to see - why should the youngsters have all the fun.
I will admit that some elderly won't accept change and get stuck in their own little ruts and are happy to do so. I say to them, take a look at the new technology - it's not as hard as it appears.

February 22nd, 2011 at 4:09 pm

Here are a couple that we’ve investigated recently for our own implementation:

http://www.canto.com/ looks quite promising for worldwide, international organizations…Cumulus (like the cloud) …

AND

http://www.brightech.com/btweb/index.jsp … MediaBeacon has moved to the front for our purposes … they have a few well-known clients (Hallmark, for instance) … we’ve been to visit their offices in Minneapolis just last week during the heat wave and escaped just before the 17 inch snowfall over Presidents’ Day… whew!

We really like their product as well as their attitude… search for the DAM Bill of Rights… (wink)

I found your site as I was searching for a comparison chart of DAM products… (grin)

Until that time … Earl J.

PS – my site above is also a WordPress endeavor. . . (grin)
I hate the inability to edit my own comments. . . (sigh)

Hi Carol and all,
Does any of you know the DL systems which can search within the documents (e.g. PDFs) and handle access restrictions (DRM)?
Thanks.

Heh! Me too!

Sorry - I have been side tracked while I get a Drupal site implemented at work by October 10. I'll be back on track after that.

Thanks,
Carol
